PAID YOUTH INTERNSHIPS

FARM-TO-TABLE CHEFS

Schedule and Pay:

January 18  - March 31 6 hours / week

Wed - Thu 4-6pm Assist w/ farming & cooking tasks at the 5 Loaves Farmhouse

Fri 2/4 4-8pm Food prep for pizza take-out orders & pick-up.

Fri 3/4 4-8pm Food prep for pizza take-out orders & pick-up.

Sat 3/26 8am-2pm Assist with Maple Syrup Pancake Breakfast

No work on: 2/1, 2/2, 2/22,2/23,2/24

*Also will include monthly field trips / special events on Saturdays or days off from school. 

  • Start location is 70 W. Delavan

  • Paychecks are given biweekly on Wednesdays, at a pay rate of $13.20 an hour.  Any scheduling concerns or changes in schedule or pay can be discussed with your supervisors.

  • You must communicate scheduling conflicts as soon as possible.  If you will be late, or miss work you must communicate this at the first available opportunity.  Until you have gotten a response from a supervisor, you have not actually communicated; keep trying until you get a response.  Give two weeks' notice before quitting.

Job Description:

1 - Assist with seed ordering, planting, and seedling care at the farm

2 - Food prep during cooking demonstrations & special events as well as maple syrup & honey production.

3 - Help set-up & provide customer/food service at farm special events

4 - Assist with cleaning and organizing farm supplies

5 - Help planning youth events

6 - Assist with other farm tasks as needed

COVID-19 Precautions:

  • Masks required during indoor activities

  • Small class sizes (1-2 staff and up to 4 students in a large learning kitchen) allows for social distancing

  • Adequate air circulation & ventilation provided by ceiling fans, exhaust fans & air purifier

  • Sanitation of workspaces before and after classes

  • Following up to date local & state guidelines on public gatherings
